Reports Indicate Spider-Man Will Face Green Goblin and Doc Ock in the MCU, Sparking Fan Outrage

 


 
The MCU has a busy lineup of upcoming movies, despite Marvel Studios facing challenges with their recent projects. There’s been talk about releasing fewer films and shows due to fan fatigue over declining quality. However, Spider-Man remains a major draw, consistently proving to be Marvel’s most profitable franchise.
 

 
In the MCU, Spider-Man has had three standalone movies, with a fourth confirmed. Producer Amy Pascal mentioned several months ago that work on the sequel had been underway but paused due to solidarity with the ongoing WGA Strike at the time.
 

 
With the development of the movie now in full swing, new rumors have emerged about who Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will face in the fourth installment. According to Alex Perez from Cosmic Circus, Spider-Man will battle Doc Ock and Green Goblin once more in the MCU. It’s still unclear if the former actors will return to reprise their roles.
 

 
Fans are understandably disappointed. Despite how well those villains were portrayed the first (or second…) time around, Spider-Man has an extensive rogue gallery, yet filmmakers repeatedly choose to adapt the same villains over and over again.
